my sony tv kp53s35 tv has a flickering clear picture what steps do i need to take, or look for to resolve this issue. I had a tv repair man come over and he said either rejunivate the tv or buy new picture tubs.
Jimbo I moved your thread to the right spot in case your wondering. If the Picture tubes are weak or bad, you will have no choice but to replace the tubes or have the tV set replaced. If I am not mistaking my friend, this TV set is about or over 10 years old. A picture tube replacement job for a set like this is going to cost you at least 800 to 1000 bucks, if and only if there is nothing else wrong with the TV set or you can even find the tubes. If you can have the tubes rejuvenated and have the set last you another year or so, go for it. I would not drop that kind of hard earned cash into a 10 year old TV set. Now sometime rejuvination works and sometimes it does not, and there is never any warranty on this type of service as sometimes rejuvination can even blow out the CRTs. Trade up for a brand new HDTV flat panel or micro-display projection TV set. Good Luck and let us know what you decide to do.
