remote codes for older proscan

I have an older Proscan 36" projection TV, MN PS27108.  I'm not currently connected to any type of external operating system such as cable or satalite.  I just want to be able to run my DVD player through it.  In order to do that the Television has to be set on channel 00.  I don't have a remote that works.

I was connected to satalite TV, Dish Network, and the tech who installed that system programmed their "Dish Network" Remote to work on my TV.  I moved and no longer have that remote but I know there must be a way to program another remote isn't there?  I can't seem to find any remote codes for either the TV or the remote that I have now, Echostar Technologies Coorporation, IR REMOTE 123479171-AA.

I would think I could program this remote to operate my TV. Or would I be better off just buying a "generic universal remote".  I'm afraid it wouldn't have codes for my old set included in the code sheet.

thanks in advance for your advice

What you need to do is the

What you need to do is the manual remote code search that is on every universal type of remote.  All you need to do is go to dishnetwork.com and go to support and go to remote help. You will find the remote number or a discription of the remote and how to do the manual search.  If this does not work, there is a problem with the remote sensor or the remote circuit. Good Luck, and let us know how you made out.
