For the past few weeks my tv's screen turns blue after a couple of hours of working. Although I can see and hear. The screen is all blue with horizontal arced lines. This only happens when the tv is on for a few hours if I turn it on in the morning it is fine. Any ideas on what this might be?
This is a blue drive problem. Could be an intermittant blue picture tube, a bad blue driver transistor on the CRT board, a bad connection on the blue crt board, or a problem in the RGB comming from the video jungle IC. A set this age, most likely will run you about 300 to 500 bucks to have this problem fixed, unless it is the picture tube. There are no user repalceable parts inside this TV set so the best advice I can give you, unless you have experience working and soldering on solid state printed circuit boards is to seek out a proffessional to assist you in this repair. If you do have some experience, you should first get the service manual and start first with the blue crt driver board voltages. Good Luck, and keep us informed of the progress with this repair.
I have a tech coming to see it on monday I'll keep you posted.
Thanks!
