To the point. I purchased a Panasonic rear projection tv(PT53WX42F) and spent what seems like my life savings on the thing. I had used it for about a year and a half and wasnt on that much. One eveing while ejoying my tv it just shuts down out of nowhere. I tried to turn it back on and it shut off immediately. I unpugged it for 3 hours to see if it would reset and this did not work. I finally decided to call a repairman out to tell me the bad news and boy did he deliver. He tells me a problem with the power suppy- $500 to fix. Guess what, I dont have $500 or I would probably just buy a new tv. These are the things that I have came up with...when the v shuts off the led displays a code. I found the code on the A board that says...1 flash= +140V. I have the schematics and when I put both of those togther...I dont know what the hell +140V means? Anyone that might be able to guide me? As most TV people in my city seem to be pretty damn rude...oh I guess that is because I dont have the 500 dollars to pay them to rip me off to fix my tv...Note: I can buy a whole new TV board for that price.
Sorry, but there ain't gonna be no $2 easy fix on this one. Reading is a wonderful pastime and you can check out books at the library for free.
