I have a RCA ColorTrak Plus 37" TV that is dead. It won't come on at all now. It started shutting off once in a "blue moon"...the shutoffs becoming more frequent until it could no longer be restarted.

Got any Ideas as to what the problem might be, and what a reasonable cost to repair it should be?
On this chassis, there is a small coil from the horizontal driver transformer secondary to the horizontal output transistor base, that needs to be taken out of the Printed circuit board, scrap off the leads and reinsert and solder. there are bad solder conbnections all over this set, such as on the flyback, in the poawer supply and also in the sweep power supply. At this poit, make sure the horizontal output transistor is not shorted, as if it is or its open, replace the flyback transformer. Good Luck, and please let us know how you made out with this repair.
