We are trying to transfer a boughten movie (one that CAN be copied) to another empty vhs tape. We have the cable needed. Ours have 3 prongs with the colors, white, red and yellow. How should the cables be hooked up? We have tried every combination but as yet have had no success. Would like step by step directions to hooking the wires. Thanks for any help.
If the tape is not copy-protected, then you can create a copy. I'm assuming you have two VCRs to accomplish this.
You'll need to connect the yellow, red, and white cable to the OUTPUT on the playback VCR, and to the INPUT on the recording VCR. Change the input of the recording VCR to EXT-1, Input 1 or 2, etc. depending on where you plugged it in.
Begin playback of the tape on the playback VCR, and hit record on the recording VCR. Assuming you have the input appropriately set on the recording VCR, all should be good.
