My faithful Pioneer DVD717 has become stuck in standby. The machine recognises the remote by the interruption of the standby LED and pushing the open/cose or stop button. Otherwise nothing.
Any solutions would be grateful.

These sets are famous for having bad power supply capacitors and or a jammed mechanism will sometimes cause the unit to shut down and do nothing. Not alot a consumer can do for this unit. This model is about six or seven years old, so taking it to a shop for an estimate will most likly exceed its worth.. I would suggest buying yourself an early holiday gift. Good Luck
