i have a Mitsubishi Vs-55601 rear projection tv,When you hit the power button a click is heard but it turns immediatly back off.If you hit the power button multiple times .a brief snow screen will appear and then shut back off.This Tv is in a repair shop but they are having troble diagnosing the problem.Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Have them check the start up resistor I think its like a 270K resistor and I think it is called R 903. Also there is a capacitor in that same circuit called C920 should also be replaced. Sometimes a resistor off of pin 5 of the High Voltage transformer will also open up when these other parts go bad. Good luck and please let us know what they found out. Im sure they are going to tell you something differant?

Well the tv shop "said" those parts were good ,but they didnt have a clue what else was wrong with it so I brought it back home . I have called another tech to come here and check it it out ,and I will relay the info you gave to him as well,just in case they were wrong.When I turn the set on repeatedly I can get a brief small snow screen and some sound for about a 1/2 second but then you hear the relay shut off

It could be those parts I said BUT you must remember that without checking the set, all this is a quess. Thanks for the reply and YES please do keep us informed.
Well the second tech came and checked everything on the set ,and still could not find anything wrong .I guess this set is scrap since nobody can find anything wrong with it .

Intermittant problems can be a nightmare! To bad it wont act up when some ones testing it.
I have the same problem with mine. I have the same model tv and it turns of immediately after i turn it on. someone gave it to me for free. I was told it was a relay switch but I want to make sure it is the problem before i spent 150 on it.
