Okay! I got the value of the resistor it is 1.2ohm @ 1.4w but I still have a problem where there is no vertical. I have replaced the IC TA8403k but still no luck.
Yes check the b+ voltage in the sweep power supply.. Probably an open resistor or rectifyer. the numbers will start with the same series as the numbers oon the PC board in the vertical circuit. Such as if the ic is U401 the resistors will start with the r400 seris. Also check the clamping diode next to the IC. The b+ runs through the diode also. Check for something open. If your voltages are ok then your gonna need to hook up an isolation transformer and trace out the waveforms with an ociliscope. If this is over your head Please seek aout a pro to assist you with this repair. Good Luck and let us know what you found or did to the set. :>)
I checked and have no power to the IC. I verified the diodes and resistors and they tested ok but no power to them.
I followed the PC board printed circuit and found that from the horizontal transistor D1877 location Q502 it feeds into a small transformer #P01204 location T552 there is no power in or out of it?
I found the problem it was a small capacitor located near the resistor that had burnt and that I replaced that was shorted out and I also had a missing solder contact on pin 6 of the IC vertical transitor.
Fix the problem but the TV set work for a big 5 minutes before the tube sparked purple inside the electron gun and burned. Dead picture tube now so I give up trying to fix this one it was already 16 years old.
HAW Man Too Bad!! I have had luck like this too in the past, when I was repairing an older set. You bust your horns trying to get it, you find several things, and something else goes bad soon after. On the Picture tube, Do you know any techs that have a CRT rejuvinator?? Sometimes these older tubes, you can bring back to life. Oh well, please come back to us again.

Anyone have any ideal here?

Thanks Larry for the tips.

I'm wondering if that's where the problem is?
Any idea?
Thanks
