I have a Magnavox 15" LCD flat-panel TV that's about a year and a
half old. A couple of months ago it suddenly stopped working. There's a
small green light on the transformer. It used to stay on steady as long
as it was plugged in, but now it flashes. If I disconnect the TV from
the transformer the green light burns steadily.
<> Magnavox's
web site was less than useless; their toll-free line told me only that
it was out of warranty (duh!) and that there's no "exchange" program on
that model, whatever that means. They gave me the name of 2 local
authorized service shops, but neither of them can fix it (or even look
at it: that model has to be sent off somewhere).
<><> I'm
just trying to figure out if it's worth paying to have someone even
look at this thing. It wasn't that expensive to begin with, less than
$300, and I don't want to spend much on repairs if it's a piece of crap
anyway. You know? I'll just replace it with one of the many other TVs I already have around the house, and never EVER buy another Magnavox.
Im sorry to tell you my fried, But from what you desribe, theres a main power supply board in this set with alot of surface mounted parts and it goes bad on a regular basis. The replacement board has no exchange on it and cost 276.00 bucks. Its up to you as if you wanna get a new board I will ask the peeps who I had fix one for my customer under warrantee for a customer. Good luck
