Sony Trinitron KV-32S36 / No Power

I have a Sony Trinitron, Model KV-32S36, Manufactured April 1997 with NO POWER. I kept it unplugged for 8 hours and plugged it back in and it didn't help. When I use the remote control with the TV, I get nothing, not even a click. Is this worth fixing? If it is a power supply, is this something I could fix myself ... I do have some knowledge of electronics but no tools....

I typically say that any TV

I typically say that any TV over 7 years old should not be fixed, especially in the 36" and under analog tube market. 9 years is a pretty good life for a CRT set when used as the primary TV, and you could replace it with a better analog set for under 300 dollars.

I know this is an old thread

I know this is an old thread but I disagree. I fixed my RCA for $35. flyback and HOT. TV is fine otherwise. I guess if you got $300 to burn you can buy another tv. Although I think I may have a problem finding a good 32" for $300....maybe not. Just my opinion. Matt obviously knows WAY more than I do. I have only fixed 1 TV working on number 2. I just read so many posts that say not to bother to fix. I wanted to try and am very happy I did. It has only been a couple of months since my fix though.....it may go bad again. I hope not.
