According to various sources,

According to various sources, the clicking sound is the on relay clicking off due to the protection circuit being engaged because some part of the TV is drawing excessive current.

You'll need to contact an authorized Mitsubishi servicer to track down the problem inside TV. You can find a service list here.

Hi,

Hi,

Just solved the problem of: green light blinking for 2.5-second and then a click is sound and the TV shots off. TV will not turn on. TV green light blinks but TV will not turn on...etc.:

By pressing the Menue and Device keys on the front panel for 5 second, an error code will be blinked by the green light in a two digit sequence (for more details see info below): Count the number of blinks then wait for a short pause, then count the number of blinks again. The sequence will repeat for 5 times such that for a 22 error code you'll get 20 blinks (i.e. (2+2=) 4 X 5 = 20). 22 error code according to the repair manule is "short protect": i.e. some fuses will open up due to a short or excessive current drawn in the (circuit) set. The fact that the the green light blinks actually indicates that the power supply is functioning well. I just repaired my WS-55909 and tracing the short found out that the IC which contains the three drive amplifiers (for the RGB's)was shorting out causing to two fuses to pop open and disabling the TV to prevent further damage. I replaced the IC-STK393-110HIC (approx. $90.00) and further found out that the compound between the amplifier and its heat sink was not applied properly causing excessive heat to build up and finally causing failure of the IC (i.e. the three amps come in an IC package), but the TV is approx. 6.5 years old and this was its first failure. I downloaded the repair manual for $3.99 for the Mitsubishi WS-55909 V19 Chassis 55" Projection TV Technical Training Manual Details from http://www.e-servicemanuals.com/product-view.php?prod_id=321955909. Let me know how your repair is coming...
