i've got the same problem with my projection mitsubishi,its probably an electrical problem
My panasonic plays fine for about 15 minutes, then the picture and sound go out. When I turn off the power and turn it back on, the picture and sound are back. What could cause the picture and sound to "snap out" like that. The t.v. plays great for about 15 minutes, then zap! No picture, no sound, just rain. HELP! By the by, the Panasonic is 7 years old, model #CT-20G4A.
we have the same problem with our hitachi 60 inch tv has no picture or sound will power up what have you found to be wrong or have you not been able to fix the problem?
we have the same problem with our mitsubishi big screen ws-55805 the t.v. goes dark but the voice still works we had it serviced by an authorized dealer but they couldn't find out what was wrong after having it for 2 weeks. It will just go off then you wait 15 to 30 mins and it will go back on. some times it will happen alot and other times it will be weeks. anyone have any ideas what part of the system would do that? thank you
daddysgirl, the problem I have seen in your set is a hard one to find, because it happens any time if feels like when ever it feels the need to tick you off right in the middle of a good movie, Right? Ok if the answer was yes , Its most likly One of three very common problems larger repair shops have seen with these sets, as they do alot of them. First most common is the jumpers and a resistor off the flyback transformer that completes the filiment circuit for the three picture tubes. They have alot of bad connections on that circuit. I usually resolder all the componets in the sweep power supply that are pat of the filement circuit. Also another problenm is the connections on the CRT boaqrds on the Picture tube sockets have been found to have ring cracks around the pins or wires connectinfg the boards together in a straght connection. In some cases sets that have a PIP feature will have a dark picture or No picture problem because theres a stand up PIP printed circuit board that the small surface mounted capacitorsd go bad. The onlt way to fix this is ti have a good capacitor meter... if your not a trained tech you should'nt be experimenting inside a set that has 32,000 volts hangin around!
