i have a phillips magnavox tv model TS2768C101 when i press the on/off button i get a little noise and the light blinks, but the tv will not go on. do you think the tv is shot ?
Being a TV Tech for over 40 years, sounds like your set needs shopwork. Now it depends if you want to spend the price of a new set to repair yours or just to go out and buy a new one which you could probably get for around $250.00.
Most TV's today in that price range or even a lower price range can be considered "Throw Aways". It doesn't pay to fix them as you can put up a few dollars more and buy a new one.
This does not pertain to Wide Screen TV,s or Plasma TV's as these are very expensive and are usually worth the repair charges.
My Magnavox Model is where you plug cable coxial cable in the back, but I have to wiggle the cord to get sound and picture. If I push the T.V. against the wall where cable wire is press against it then position it properly on t.v. stand, but a sudden move or walk across the floor. it goes out again HELP....
