Please keep us all posted on the response you get. I have sent three very polite e-mails to Mistsubishi ([email protected]) concerning my problem, to no avail. I also believe Mitsu needs to face this "obvious" problem with their products.
I noticed that the timer light on my four year old Mitsu 65 incher was blinking and the TV wouldn't power on. The reset switch didn't fix the problem does anyone have an ideau what could casue this, I have been reading on sites about 4 capacitors and if there is an easier fix than spending about $700 to correct problem i am all ears.
Let us know what was decided Banshee. I have included all who are requesting the DM fix and repair who left a GOOD e-mail address. Gerard, I have a fix for you if you can solder and follow simple instructions. You could put that 700 to 1000 bucks into your own pocket. Good Luck with your repairs.
Larry Dillon said: When you get your manual, you will see the diagnostics test shows that a 2-2 blink means short protect. That means the power supply detected an large amount of current draw and shut down because of a short in the set. Most likely in this set, you have a bad convergence IC. You will however still need to change those seven capacitors in the DM board and if you do not, they could blow out the DM module, and at a cost of about 1000 bucks, I think 10 bucks worth of capacitors is worth saving 1000 bucks. In this model there is only one convergence IC. It's number is the STK393-110. Good Luck with your repair.
Hey Larry,
I wrote to you on December 27th with a WS-55859 than shuts down after 5-seconds. It has a diagnostic code of 2-2. I followed your suggestions and replaced the STK393-110 convergence IC and, for my own piece of mind, the entire DM board. The TV still shuts down after 5-seconds. Am I missing something or do you have any other suggestions?
Larry, I fixed my blinking light(DM board)problem per your directions. Our Mitsubishi 65513 is now working perfectly! While the tv was cracked open I cleaned the lamps and installed the 12v PC fan as you suggested. Thanks for the very detailed directions and manual. The 4 bad and bulging capacitors were indeed the culprit. I replaced them with 1000uf 16v. 105 degree c radial caps. I used the de-soldering tool you recommended from Radio Shack(the one with the red squeeze bulb)It worked easily as I practiced on an old pcb before attempting the real repair. I learned just as a previous member stated it is very important to install the DM board 1st and then the sheilding box(with already attached fan)to ensure the board has made a solid connection. Also I must add their is black plastic dust and light shield directly above the DM module that must be removed before installing the DM sheilding box. There are also 6 connectors that need detached before sliding out the tray and one long black screw. I was careful to note their location as to not miss one when putting everything back together.
With much gratitude and praise, thank you for your expertise and kindness.
mrjimmy, you might have a short in the main power supply board. You will need to look at the schematic and make sure you have all of the standby voltages as well as the switched voltages. ptscorp.com does do board level repairs on these power supplies, at least they used to. I have heard that if you take out the entire chassis, they will repair it and overhaul anything needed to be done for about 300 bucks or so.
Larry I'm in the same boat as so many others that you have helped with their Mitsubishi projection TV. I have a Mitsubishi WS-65513, and it currently has no picture and the green power light flashes on and off.
It would be greatly appreciated if you could send me the repair and service manual for my TV. I believe I can fix it myself with your help.
Like everyone else in this thread, I've encountered the blinking green light on my Mits WS65513... tried all the standard fixes, and am convinced after reading this board that I have the same capacitor problems as everyone else. Could you send me a copy of the fix. I would really appreciate any help and will let you know how it goes.
I just discovered today that I have the same green light blinking problem on my Ws-65513. I am encouraged by the prior posts that this might be the capcitor issue . Would you mind sending the repair and service manual to me and the instructions on changing out the caps. I would like to give the repair a shot myself before calling the TV store to come and get it.. Many thanks. Please email me at [email protected].
I just found this site. I came home from a week away and found the green light blinking on my Mit WS-55513. I see you have a possible fix for it. Would you please send it to me. I would like to fix it myself. Thank you. [email protected]

Larry, Could you please send me the repair manuel for the blinking green light problem. I have a very qualified electronics professional who is going to replace the capacitors on the dm board. I am hopeful this will fix the problem. Our TV is over 3-1/2 years old. It did this just less than two months ago, but after leaving it unplugged overnight, the TV starting working again. This time, it will not come back on. Please send to: [email protected]
38 pages of Mitsubishi capacitor DM failures in this thread, seems Larry, you have become a slave to this defect. How do you find the time? Does this forum have any other thread as robust? I smell Class Action.
Still waiting for a decision from Mitsubishi. I feel they are going to reimburse me the entire amount of the repair. We'll see.
hello larry

I study online and have what's called sleep apnea. I do my studies in between the DM saga.
Larry,
Can I get a "me too" on the manual and repair doc?
