10 things IPhone can't do, the rebuttal

First of all, if you have not read the Mind Over Matt'er blog about what he can with his 8525 phone that the iPhone can't , you need to read it first, here, then come back to this post.

Ok, you back?

We thought that a rebuttal was needed to this post.

Here is the stated reasons that he said he can do that iPhone owners can only dream about.

1. Watch my home TV with SlingPlayer - No you can't watch your Sling Box yet.

Who would want to? Whatever you may be watching, someone at home could be watching the same thing at the same time!
So they would know when you are watching adult videos!
You can download and convert movies to your iPhone and no one would be the wiser as to what you are watching. Nothing like a good adult movie when you are out of town!

3. Type on a real keyboard - What are you 50? Everyone knows that on screen virtual keyboards are the wave of the future. Get with the times, man!

4. Switch phones on the fly - Again, why switch phones, the iPhone does everything you need and only weighs in at a mere 4.8 oz, and 4.5×2.4×0.46 in, shoot the 8525 weighs in at 5.65 oz. if you calculate it out over a years time that's 19 pounds of phone you carried aroud for the year!

5. Tether to a laptop as a modem - Who can afford to do that after paying $400.00 or more for a phone? The bill is already over 300 pages as it is now. Not everyone is made of money.

7. Sync/File Transfer via Bluetooth - Again, with my cable I can do that. Who needs the worry or setup hassles of Bluetooth? A cable give me 100%, no worry gurantee that no one is intercepting my bluetooth signal.

What's the problem with carrying a little cable when I am already carrying my Apple iPhone Bluetooth Headset , the iPhone Dual Dock and iPhone Bluetooth Travel Cable?

8. Copy/Paste - There is an Apple way around this. For example, if you want to send someone a picture all you have to do is tap the photo to bring up the toolbar, tap the “do something with this picture” button, and then tap the Email Photo button. You don’t copy a URL from MobileSafari, switch to Mail, and paste it into a message; you tap the URL, then click the Share button that appears.
Simple huh?

9. Replace the battery - Apple will replace your battery for a service fee of $79, plus $6.95 shipping and handling. Also, Apple disposes of your battery in an environmentally friendly manner. What's a few days without your cell phone know that the old battery is disposed of properly?

10. Be productive - Hey, it's a cell phone, not a laptop. Who cares if it can't do all that? All the glitz and glam is the main reason to buy one. If you can't impress your friends with a $500.00 cell phone, that everyone is talking about, why get one?

In addition, it appears that companies are finally coming out with ways for you to access your work email. Sure it may cost a little more money, but you will be too busy looking over your 300 page cell phone bill to notice. Foot in mouth

Like this girl is!

If you made it to here, this is just a tongue in cheek blog post. It's all in good fun. Don't take it seriously.

Oh, that and did you notice #6 was missing? Can't comment on that one. Have not tried it.
