I recently visited Microsoft and was fascinated to learn that their vision of the Media Center goes way beyond buying a PC to stick in an entertain center cabinet. Instead, they envision all manner of devices embedding media center technology.
It looks like the 2 camps just can't play nice. There had been talks between Blu-Ray advocates Sony & Matsushita and HD-DVD key player Toshiba to end the format war before it started - by introducing one standardized format for the next generation of optical discs.
First off, I'll say that TVs that only have 1 RF input are a real pain, and I have 2 of them. 1 is in my basement, and I needed to connect cable TV, a DVD player, and game systems to it, which as we all know need more than just 1 input.
My other problem, one that I probably need professional help for, is that I'm a cheapskate... there I said it.
Having children, I have a hard time keeping games from getting ruined. Is it possible to make back-up copies? On any of the systems (ps2, xbox, or gc)? Thanks

The question you pose is a great one, and one that ties directly in to the whole consumer rights issue.
