Sensitive to LCD Screens

I am chemically sensitive and have been having problems with severe eye pain and burning when I use my laptops.  I bought a screen that filters out 99% of the UV and radiation.  While it did help, I am still having problems.  Then I found there was a way to use your tv screen as a monitor, but to have readable text, I have to use a VGA connection.  However, the only televisions I found with VGA connections had LCD screens.  These screens are the same as my computer.  So now my only hope to possibly continue using my computer is to hook up an old glass screen monitor to my new laptop.  My question is... will this work?  I am desperate to get back to my computer as I am housebound and my computer is my only connection with the world.  If anyone has any other ideas that might help, please let me know.  Thanks so much for your help
