Hitachi dvd mini cam wont finalize disc or let me try again

I have a Hitachi dvd camcorder that takes 3" dvdr discs , video was fine but when I go to finalize disc it wont finalize the 1st time it went 1/2 way then stopped and said it was not finalized now I cant even play it back on my camera it says finalize not complete put in new disc. This is my 3yrs old granddaughters first dance recital and if theres anyway to save it I would be very greatful.  4453 florida
