You can put the STK394-160 IC

You can put the STK394-160 IC in place of the 392-110 ICs but you must also replace the six low ohm resistors or the upgrade ICs will not work.

Fleabay is probably one of

Fleabay is probably one of the worst places for someone to get parts like the convergence Integrated circuits, there have been many people who buy chips from there and in as little as a week,if they work at all,are right back in the same situation. The problem is alot of people sell the QC rejected or fake chips that companies will not buy.Im willing to bet the repair man skimped on the chips so he could pocket more of your $ and thats why they didnt last long.Click HERE for one of the best places to get quality chips that I have found, the kit is for your model only.It includes any pico fuses or resistors that you might need as well as instructions and support if you need it.

i just checked that site and

i just checked that site and they dont have the stk 394-160.i think i should upgrade to a better chip dont u think? i have a feeling if i get the 392-110 again it's going to fail on me again heh:P so should i upgrade to something like 392-120 or 394-160?my house is sometimes cooled with ac but i have the tv right next to the wall and that area gets warm hehe.i'm going to hire a guy to install these items.the six low ohm resistors u speak of where are they located? thanks for the usefull information so far guys:)

You can get the DP27

You can get the DP27 convergence upgrade kit from www.tvrepairworld.com which has the 394-160 sanyo ICs and the associated resistors, heat sink paste and also the repair instructions on CD.

If you go with the 392-150

If you go with the 392-150 you shouldnt have to change any resistor values, while retaining an upgraded version of the chip. You could contact the place I mentioned before and see if thats what is shipped in their kit instead of the 110,which I dont think they make anymore.

thank you sir,is this the one

i have no idea,i just emiled

i have no idea,i just emiled them to see which one is right for that model.

yes its the DP23 but the

yes its the DP23 but the service info for the DP23 is actually in the DP27 service manual since the dp23 only had very slight differences but not in the convergence . The DP23 manual is just an addendum manul to the DP27

Roll up the rubber boot

Roll up the rubber boot slightly then while pushing the HV lead down into the Transformer simply rotate the wire 90 degrees counter clock wise and the HV wire pops right out.

if i get the STK392-180 do i

if i get the STK392-180 do i need to change any resistor values? here are the pics from the tv,xbox 360 was connected to it.

The amps and max volts are the same as the 150 & 110 You shouldnt have a problem replacing it with the 180 without having to change resistors. The best thing to do would be to use the 394-160 but all of the chips are susceptible to a shorter life span caused by heat,if your that worried about it you can install an internal fan on the heat sink for the chips.

i just got a bit confused,i

i just got a bit confused,i read the more amps on the chip the better? 392-120 has 4 amps and the 392-180 has 3 amps.i thought the higher the model # the better? i got a couple of computer fans lying around,to which cable would i connect the fans to power them up?

fpsfreak
hmmmm i'm thinking of adding

hmmmm i'm thinking of adding the tv + molex power adaptor(for fans) on same power strip,so whenever i want to turn on the tv i turn on the power strip.that way the fans turn on.not a bad idea eh?:P

to replug the big black

to replug the big black cables back in i just simply insert in till they click? do they have to go in the same order i unplugged them?

http://i427.photobucket.com/albums/pp356/fpsfreak209/tv.jpg

I'm not a hundred percent

I'm not a hundred percent shure but I don't think they will click when u insert them.you should have marked the wire at the top of the flyback transformer before you removed them. Since you didnt just shove them in untill they stop and gently try pulling them back out if they dont come out there fine.it's generally a good idea to put things back were they come from.

fpsfreak
first thing on my mind was

first thing on my mind was to label them, but i just quickly unplugged two of them(big black cables) and the labeling i forgot to do.the convergence chips came in earlier today and i'm about to send the chips+board to a nearby shop.i have zero skills in the soldering department heh.

edit: oh wow i just figured why not just look at the photo i took lol,now i think i know in which order they go in.

I take alot of pictures on

I take alot of pictures on every job I do,it's saved my but more than once.

fpsfreak
slinteriors if u could

slinteriors if u could comment on how to pop those black wires back in,i would really appreciate it buddy:) i havent had a chance to send the chips in for soldering, hopefully on sat i have enough time.

fpsfreak
thanks to both of u,tv is

thanks to both of u,tv is back in business,i installed a small computer fan on top of the heatsink.fan is pushing air between heatsinks and on chips.hope that works:)
