If I remember correctly, the horizontal went small then the set died.
I think I was able to turn the set on a couple times then it completely died.
So far this is what i have learned from browsing different threads:
Replace IC601, Q501, Q502, and 0.1ohm fusible resitor (part numbers unknown)
Check for cracks and cold solder joints on flyback and horizontal driver transformer
Clean, tin and solder leads.
Can I get the correct part numbers to order from Sony as well as a guide on how to... I don't know which boards to remove from tv. I won't have a problem replacing the parts and cleaning, tinning and re-soldering the leads and connections.
I really would like to fix this set because it worked great before it died.
