Pioneer SD-P50A5

My Pioneer big screen is acting up.  There must be a loose connection somewhere, but I am not sure where to start.  As this thing is close to 10 years old I hope to get a few more months out of it.

When watching TV, I hear a pop and the screen goes blank.  For a while, once it "rested" a bit, it would come back on.  As expected this has increased in frequency.  I took the back off and found that if I strike PCB holder, it comes back on.

I have read where folks re-solder all the connections on these TVs.  I think that I must have a loose component somewhere.  I am not an electrician by any means, but am comfortable with soldering.

Would it be advised to remove the board and touch-up all the connections?  Are there any tricks or gotchas to doing this?  If I take it in somewhere, I'm sure I'm looking at $5-600, I'd rather use this on a new TV when I'm ready.
