I have a set top box which I was told could be connected through the vcr and the tv. The problem is I cannot record anything on terrestial with the timer now it just doesn't start recording. The instructions say I can connect it via the vcr, help!

Sandra, you have to connect the outside antenna to the antenna input on the VCR and the output of the VCR to the TV set. Then you will need to find out in the instructions for the VCR, how to tune the channels in on the VCR. You also will have a selection for cable or air. The air setting is what you want. then put the Tv on whatever channel you have the VCR set at, just like if you were going to watch a tape. Now when you set up[ a timer recording make sure you do not forget all of the set-up steps, such as the channel you want to record.
