Hi All,
Bought a new MP3 player, LA-USA with 1GB storage space, was working great one fine day it displayed "Disk Error". FM Radio still works but memory is now empty o%. Tried connecting to my PC and the player / device is not recognised.
Should I format the flash drive ? OR do I need to flash the firmware ?
Version SCD - AT85500B 2006/02/15 3.5.33.0000
Anyone help with a fix above problem.

Both ideas are great avenues to explore, but it's equally possible that the flash drive is defective. If you have the ability to return/exchange the unit, I would investigate that first.
