Casio wave ceptor - it doesn't

WVQ-201HDU-2AVER Casio wave ceptor watch

Great Xmas pressie and ideal for me for work as on the railways and accurate timepiece is a must. All was going ok then t'other morning (saturday) it had stopped and the small LCD display was blank. Thought could be battery - how long do they stick round on the shelf before they're bought? Anyway went back to it later and it has restarted itself but with wrong time - 3.5 hours slow but the date correct. Have used the manual and found a copy of it online thru Casio's site and appears to be right time zone and left it by a window to update as you're sposed to, I've tried a manual receive several times but no matter what still wrong. I'm pretty sure not battery as hasn't stopped since and time is consistently 3.5 hours behind which doesn't bear out shot battery. Any clues would be appreciated - Thanks.
