looking for a repair part for JVC GRAXM225

I need to find a replacement piece for my son's JVC GRAXM225 camera. When we purchased it on ebay last year it was a refurbished video camera and was listed with no flaws. Unfortunately when we received it I discovered the little piece on the bottom that a tripod attachment screws into was snapped off. We took it to a repair shop and were told that the part was no longer available because it's an older camera, so now I'm trying to find a resource where we can get this replacement piece. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
