I have an HP Ze5000 laptop with s-video. I followed the great instructions from techlore and was able to use my television (Proscan 55" tv) as a monitor.
It seems as thought I can do everything, as if it were my original monitor, EXCEPT to play a movie from my hard drive. When I go to play a movie all that comes up is the WMP window. Althought I CAN see the movie on the laptop monitor, it won't play on the WMP screen on the tv monitor (it's just a blank WMP screen). Can someone help?

Hi Wolf,
WMP will only play video through the primary monitor due to some form of licensing restriction. If you set the TV as the primary display (number 1), then you'll get the video on the TV.
