Samsung SGH E316 Camera Trouble

Whenever I try to access the "Take Pictures" or "/Record Videos" mode the cell phone displays "please wait" for about 30 seconds and then shuts itself off. After about 1 minute the phone turns itself back on. Any ideas or feedback? Thanks

There are various reports online of similar problems with the SGH-E316, though I have been unable to find anyone that has reported a cause or solution to this problem.

Given the number of similar reports I've found, it is likely that Samsung is aware of this problem. Contact them at 800-726-7864, and see if they can help you. Please come back and post what you find out to better help others in the futute.

Thanks Matt. We just purchased this phone as a replacement and I did contact Samsung thinking that maybe we were not doing something right to activate the camera function, but Samsung did say the camera was malfunctioning. Unfortunately we are on the last months of our contract with AT&T and are forced to purchase an AT&T phone unless we wish to renew our contract with Cingular, which is something I am not sure about right now. I will return this phone and hopefully will be able to buy one that is fully functioning.
