An oldie but goodie, except.....

I have a 1997 TV model F25298WT, which has been excellent. Recently it stopped responding to the remote, to ANY remote (yes, new batteries and re-programming were done!).

Is there something inside that could have "burned out"? Or a tube that can be replaced? Never realized how spoiled I was, but getting up to check another channel, and manually pressing from 2 to 67 gets old real fast.

Any info out there?

Thanx,
Kathy

Sorry, yes, it's an RCA.

12/7/05 - Many thanx to Brian for his suggestions - not only didn't I sound like a fool when I asked service for help, but now everything's all fixed.

Took about 5-6 months, and my oldie is top shape again!

Kathy, make sure you're

Kathy, make sure you're remote is working by placing it next to a am radio and pushing it's buttons..you show hear some noise.

If you're remote is working sounds like a problem with the infared receiver on the tv..take it to the shop for repair.
