Larry,

Larry,
I have a constant green flashing light and the tv won't power on, not even for a second. I've unplugged, system reset, but still no change. It is a Mitsubishi WS-65869. Is this the capacitor problem or convergence? What kit do I order? If you have any repair instructions, I would appreciate you e-mailing them to [email protected].
Thanks!

Used artic silver paste also.

Used artic silver paste also.
Also I got error code 2 2 from the set.
I will be ordering the complete kit this week.
Any idea why the tv still turned on but the convergence was bad, then it wwould not turn on at all?

jessie I tried twice to send

jessie I tried twice to send youthe info you need for both tv both e-mails came back but they e-mail came back twice!!??
your tv with the flashing green light most likelynneeds the capacitor reolacement The one that clicks most likely needs the convergene ic's but If it was me I would just replace the caps inside the DM and replace the IC'S in both sets!!!
The best advice I can tell you at this point is to go to tvrepairkits.com and order the complete convergence and the capacitors inside the DM kit for your model of TV set, please go here: http://www.tvrepairkits.com/xcart/home.php?partner=larry

no need to search and order multiple parts from different sources and pay multiple shipping fees! The kit comes with original Sanyo STK IC'S , not those cheap aftermarket or china made IC'S full pictorial directions, the thermal paste, resistors, the correct Pico fuses, AND free live on-Line tech assistance in case you run into a problem with the repair. They ship out 2 to 3 day Priority mail, the next day in most cases GOOD LUCK!!!

http://www.tvrepairkits.com/xcart/home.php?partner=larry thecapacitor kit comes with the high temperature/ high frequency/long life 105 Celsius type capacitors (not those cheap Radio Shack caps) full easy to follow pictorial directions, AND free live on-Line tech assistance in case you run into a problem, All kits are shipped out within 24 hours in most cases, 2 to 3 day Priority mail. GOOD LUCK!!!

Have a mitsibushi WD 62627 TV and it turns on for about 10 seconds. Screen is completely blue then shuts off and green timer light blinks. Any sugestions or ideas if it is worth getting repaired?

Hi Larry,

Hi Larry,

I finally got around to installing the repair kit, with some success. First, I only replaced the convergence chip and that did not solve the problem. Then I replaced the pico fuses. Now I get a picture, but the convergence is way off. When I go to the convergence setup menu, I can see the words on the screen, but there is no crosshair for the adjustment. If I go to Advanced Convergence setup, there is no grid. Any ideas?? Thanks!

Hi Larry, I have a Mitsubishi WD52752 from Sept 2004 with blinking green light. I have torn into TV and removed 4 caps on the DM board and have ordered the new higher voltage replacements. Can you send me any repair procedures and parts lists for other high failure compmonnets in this set? I have heard the thermistors are also a potential problem. I would like to fix/prevent other problems while I am in there.

Thanks

Larry,

Larry,
After endless searching and reading I come to you. My problem is a little different and want to see what you recommend. Here is my exact problem...
I have a mitsubishi ws-65611 projection tv and up until a few days ago, it was working perfectly. When I went to turn the set off, none of the controls were working. Neither remote or set box buttons were being accepted. I then went ahead and turned off manually by unplugging. Since then I have not been able to get the set back on. I have tried the reset on the front of set and pulled power cord out repeatedly and the only thing that happens is that the green light on front controls flashes for about a munute and goes out... then wont power on.

Thanks for your anticipated help... my email is [email protected]

I have a WS 65869 from 2002. The power went out today, and all I have is the blinking green light. I have tried the reset, and un-plugged it for a while. Still the green blinking light. If you could send me the repair info to [email protected] I would appreciate it.

Thank you,

We have a Mitsubishi DLP TV model # WD-52628 purchased in 2006. Probably the exact same thing that's been going on with the other tvs listed above.....We have the "Blinking Green Light of Death" I believe too. For the last couple of weeks, on and off, we have had to unplug the tv in order for it to turn off. It was turning off and within a couple of minutes it is turning back on with snow only on the screen. It eventually went to a blue screen. We were able to get it to cooperate but last night it went out completely. This morning, we plugged it back in and now the Timer light blinks for about 30 seconds and then stops. After about another 30 seconds, it resumes this "reset" mode. I have tried to hit the reset button, but nothing happens. I have also tried to get the Error Code by pressing the Menu and Device buttons at the same time, but nothing happens. I am afraid with the age of the TV (4 years old) and the cost of the potential repair ($900?) we would be better off just buying a new set. With my description, do you have enough info to diagnose anything? I went to the tvrepairkits.com page and couldn't find anything that matched my description. Will you email me and let me know what you think? < [email protected] >
Thanks so much!!

Hi Larry,

Hi Larry,

I am an old timer, I repaired tube sets way back when, I am trying to help a friend who has a WS-65611 on a limited income, set runs for 3 hours then shuts down blinking codes 2-3.

I have a service manual but I do not see any listing of LED blinking codes, I found a reference for the codes online, is there a repair manual in addition to the service manual available? Is there any pictoral component location information to assist in locating components, similar to SAMS photofact?

T ordered both kits from tvrepairkits.com and have installed both the filter caps and the Sanyo convergence amplifier just as preventative maintenance, and to save me any additional service calls.

Code 2-3 is for deflection circuits, can I disable error signals to the u-processor to allow set to stay running so that I can trouble shoot?

Two of the error signals are obvious "X-Ray" and "Short", what signals represent the other codes?

If code 2-3 for a drive signal failure or output failure?

I checked all major power supplies for ripple, +24Volt, -24Volt, 12 Volt, 110Volt, all have <15% ripple and correct DC voltages.

thanks,
OldTimer

Larry,

Larry,

I am new to this blog but after a brief search realized many people have had the same problem. I also now have the the "Green blinking light of death" on my Mitsubishi WS-65511. Can you send me any relevant repair info ([email protected]) please?

Is this an issue I can fix myself? If not, would you have any idea how much someone might charge to fix it?

Thanks,

C Guiney

I have a WS-B55 and had the green blinker. I ordered the parts from TVrepairkits.com, comes with a link to detailed instructions with pictures, and was able to fix the problem in a couple of hours. I have absolutely no experience in electronics or soldering but was able to complete the repairs on the first attempt.  Good luck.

Larry, my name is Chris and I

Larry, my name is Chris and I have just joined the club of blinking lighters. I could also use the information your sending out as well. My TV is a WD-62725 Mitsubishi unit and I see a few others that have the same model as me. My Email is [email protected]

I could use a few questions answered too. I read that its more common for the power board to need the capacitors first and to check that first then check the DM unit. How true is that or should I just replace the capacitors on both boards? (Which is kind of what I was planning on doing).

Second. It seems folks with the WS tvs are being recommended to go to a higher heat range capacitor for better reliability. Can those with the WD sets do this as well or should we stick with the same rated replacements?

Larry,

Larry,

I really hope you're still helping people out on the blinking green light issues! I have a WD 52525 and I tore apart my TV in hopes it might be something simple. But now I'm looking for more expert advice. Could you e-mail me anything you have that would help?

Thanks a lot!!

I have a mitsubishi 55711

I have a mitsubishi 55711 that's been repaired a couple times for the same "shutting down" problem. Now, it's turning itself off when it's been on for a while. When I let it sit, it turns back on, usually. The 2-3 green light diagnostics tell me it's a loss of horizontal deflection. I've taken off the back of the tv, and there is what looks like a loose power cord that's supposed to supply the "jungle" board. There isn't a female clip on the board to receive the loose wire. Is it possible this is the problem? (I'm guessing some earlier repair step was skipped--installing or soldering in the power cord receptor.)

Hey larry, I've got a

Hey larry, I've got a customer who bought one of your repair kits for a ws-55711 with a continuous blinking light. He had me do the cap replacement for him and I insisted on checking that the board would work after the fix. Glad I did because when we tried to boot it up we're still getting a continuous blinky light.

I wasn't around before he pulled the board out so I didn't have a chance to try a diagnostic code, and now when I tryi get no response from the tv at all. Holding the menu and device button have absolutely no effect. When I hold the reset button the light stops, but starts right back up when it's released

I checked voltages and it looks like the connector PF is getting 1.6v on the 12v pins and 0v on the 28v. The connector FL gets about 4v on what's supposed to be 24v

I'm assuming there's a fuse or a transistor blown somewhere but I can't seem to find it. Or the system is just in standby.

Can you please email me directly back at [email protected]
