I have been poking around and it seems it is the DM module, which I pulled out and opened. Visually everything looks ok, even the 7 caps on the power board (not bloated or leaking), but that doesn't say much. The blinking green light continuously flashes, which indicates the DM isn't booting up but the TV's microprocessor is. Just wondering, in your experience, where would be the first place to look on the DM? Thanks for all of your help!

Larry Dillon
you should change the seven

you should change the seven caps even if they look good!!! if that does not work probably the EP-2 board inside the DM is bad

What does the EP-2 board do?

What does the EP-2 board do? There is another problem, though it may be unrelated. At some point I actually had to disconnect the front panel controls to get the set to come on, but I don't know if that's in any way related. Now, even with the panel disconnected, it refuses to power up. When this happened a couple of years ago, I left the set unplugged for almost 3 weeks, and much to my amazement it would power on. 1 or 2 weeks wouldn't do it, but only after 3 weeks would it work. But now, it's reared its ugly head again and I'm growing impatient and just want to fix it.

Model: Mitsubishi WS 65611

Problem: Blue element showing arch in middle and text is echoed in blue below original text. I believe I need to replace the blue element, but can't find a vendor to order it from. Any ideas? My email address is [email protected]

Tip: To check to see if a remote is working, turn on a video camera and press the button on the remote to see the infrared light(s) are working.

Larry Dillon: Please help!!!!

The caps have been replaced

The caps have been replaced on the DM board, but my set still fails to turn on. You had mentioned the EP-2 board, but there's not that much to it. What does that board do exactly? Thanks again!

Larry Dillon
that board as I understand it

that board as I understand it is the memory board for the DM board.

quick fix
You may want to just try and

You may want to just try and disconnect the front panel. Take off the speaker grill covers and unscrew the wood panel (if not under warranty do not worry about the warning). follow the front panel wire and dissconnect. Once i pluggeg it back in, the problem was fixed. If the volume button always goes up, your TV will not accept another command so that is why the other buttons and remote do not work.

Hi, guys! I had a very similar problem... remote didn't work, only On/Off on the TV worked and also when the screen did show, the device menu was showing and cycling continually around the feeds without selecting any (it happened to be on cable, so behind it I got a cable picture). System reset 3 times, no luck. Un plugged TV over night and still same problem. Any suggestions?

Larry - So glad I have found

Larry - So glad I have found this site. I posted under another topic but the model number for my TV is WS65611. I too have had the same exact problem that the first person posted about the volume and everything but the other day are power went out and now I have the flashing green light but tv won't come on at all. Repair man came out today and said we need a new DM Board $500.00 YIKES which I can't afford. Is there a easy cheaper way to fix this. Thanks Bev email: [email protected]

The best advice I can tell

The best advice I can tell you is to go to tvrepairkits.com and order the blinking light kit for your model of set, the kit comes with the high temperature/ high frequency/long life 105 Celsius type capacitors (not those cheap Radio Shack caps) full easy to follow pictorial directions, AND free live on-Line tech assistance in case you run into a problem, all kits are shipped out within 24 hours in most cases, 2 to 3 day Priority mail. GOOD LUCK!!!BE SURE to get the extended kit. Good luck
