I have the same green light

I have the same green light flashing on my Mitsubishi WS65513 and would like to attempt your 4 cap replacement repair. I would appreciate the instructions and any other help you can give. [email protected] The set is about 5 years old and the first problem. Also could you recommend a surge protector to put on this set to perhaps prevent a recurrence.

I have a WS48513 with the dreaded green blinking light. Hurricane Ike hit us and we lost power. When the power returned I noticed that the green light started blinking and has been for 4 days now. I spent $1800 for this damn thing and all I get is a blinking green light? Please send me any and all fixes to [email protected]...I would be greatly appreciative and will give you my first born if you can help me with this problem...

All,

DO NOT USE THE PARTS RECOMMENDED IN THE "CHRISANDNAT" LINK!

(although the disassembly pictures can be useful)

I would wait for Larry's package before getting parts or doing the repair. Larry's package will guide you to some high reliability parts and couple of different solutions that are not in the "chrisandnat" link. With the Radio Shack parts you can set your stopwatch to be right back here in three years, except this time the caps might have caught on fire. Install the same parts and you will likely get the same results.

If you have already put in the Radio Shack or a "identical" part to what you removed, I highly recommend you remove them A.S.A.P. and install a set of caps with the higher ratings. Given the number of sets that have failed I would run with the very best that I could get!

Hi Larry, seems to be quite

Hi Larry, seems to be quite common. I also have the WS-65713. What a deal! This was purchased in 04 and has been down almost a year now. I got it from the original owner and am hoping to repair it. I am very mechanically inclined and already have the complete board removed and on a bench. Fuses F9A04 and 05, as well with the others are good. Feedback Resistors all test at 2.4 ohms across indivisually and 4.4 ohms from terminal at connector, however can't tell at what load. IE 2 Watts. R8C07,15,23,31,39&47 AT 151 Ohms. Coils both good. I did find C5K02, C5B20, R5A13, C5K00, C5K01 and C9A31 all have seemed to leaked. Yellowish hardened substance. No continuity among them. Also, a couple diodes seem to read resistance in both directions. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
