Hi Xidui,

Hi Xidui,

This indicitive of any number of problems. As a first troubleshooting step, you'll want to disconnect everything from the receiver, unplug it from the wall for about 10 minutes, plug back in, and try to turn on with nothing attached. When you do this, does it still shut down?

yes, I disconnected

yes, I disconnected everything.  It's been sitting by itself for several months.

When I turn it back on, it turns on for 3 seconds then off again.

Please let me know if I can do anything else to test ...

Most likely you have shorted

Most likely you have shorted outputs.  The unit detects the problem and shuts itself down.  This is what is known as protect mode.  If you have no experience with electronics, it may be a bit difficult to walk you through this.  But at the very least, I need the model number.  That will give me a clue as to what you should look for.  Please provide this and I'll try to help further.
