A rear-projection TV can be simply defined as any television that displays a projected image which is first reflected by a mirror. These types of TVs are generically referred to as "big-screen TVs".

Microdisplay Rear-Projection

Available Sizes: 42"- 82"

Advantages:

Sharp image quality - LCD Rear-Projection TVs are razor sharp from corner to corner.
Weight - Except for the largest sizes, microdisplays can be easily lifted by two people.
Brightness - These TVs remain easy to see in the brightest viewing conditions.

Disdvantages:

Flat Panel TVs

Available sizes: 10" - 76"

There's no fighting it; the world is going flat. Thin display technology is growing in popularity on a daily basis, and flat panel has the potential to someday replace nearly every TV technology entirely.
