WD62530 Ballast OR ?

have had TV for 5 years . Recently installed 4th lamp . The last 2 lamps shattered inside bulb . When I installed the most recent (phillips) it worked great for few days . One morning my wife turned it on and came to me and said it shut itself off . Not sure if she prematurly hit the power button . The lamp looks fine so I purchased a used but tested ballast . It did not help . I installed the old ballast . When powering up the green timer light blinks quickly (probably the 70 seconds) then the timer light stays on , it continues to power on (have sound , no pic) then shuts off with no other status lights . I get the code 66 (lamp did not turn on at P-ON sequence) . Could lamp be bad even if it looks good ? Is there a chance I tried 2 bad ballasts ? Is there another path a novice "do-it-all" could  look into ? Already have $190 in it and not looking to much more . Thanks
