I have a Toshiba DLP TV, 57HM167 with a Solid REd Light On.
Since I have owned it, if you turned it off, when you turn it back on
immediately it would cycle with the yellow flashing light, 2 or three times
until it would get a picture. Now it may cycle 10 times, I am not sure
exactly how many and then get a solid RED light. I'd also swear I heard the thing say "Not Working".
Once I get the red flashing light, I unplug the set wait a few minutes, then
plug it back in. Try to turn it on again, then it will go through the
restart sequence a few times with the yellow flashing light. Eventually the
picture comes on and then it works fine as long as you don't turn it off.
It has been gradually getting worse over time, I suspect some parts are
going bad. Maybe capacitors????. When ever it tries to start, you can
hear a relay click, then a high pitch noise that dissipates. I noticed the
noise is slightly different if the picture comes back on.
I have had the unit since 2007 and have replaced the bulb a couple of times.
Looking for ideas????
