Hi!
A few weeks ago, we has lightning strike our telephone pole in front of our house. The electricity ran the phone lines and our directv line into the house. In a nut shell, it fried our Sony KDL 52NX800 LCD tv. It ran for alittle while after the strike but quit. I have since replaced the power board and the board with the HDMI ports on it. The tv will turn on and off with no picture or sound. What to do? Is it a hopeless case?

Try locating/searching on line for the procedure to do a "factory reset" for your unit. Your system may be corrupt after that glitch. A factory reset to default may be different from the general reset on the front of the unit.
Give it a try and post your finding.

If it was hit by lightning do yourself the favor and trash it.
