My 5+ year old Sony KV-36FS76U has started to develop an intermittent fault switching to standby mode after anything from a few minutes to a few hours operation, with 5 red blinks followed by a green (this sequence repeating).
I can reset this using the remote standby switch, but switching the mains power or the set on/off does not work. It will then repeat this shutdown process every few minutes, but eventually carries on working for a longer period.
I have found that leaving it in the flashing standby mode for about 30 minutes usually keeps it running for a couple of hours after resetting.
Any suggestions would be welcome as I am reluctant to commit to heavy repair costs, and as a recently retired profesional electrical engineer feel that I should be able to address with a little guidance. Would also appreciate advice on how to obtain schematics, component lists, etc?
