Larry,

Larry,
I have the WS-55859 diamond series that I think is 6 or 7 years old. I also had the power surge (it is plugged into a good surge protector) and now have the blinking light. Could you send me the link info for a do it yourself job. Thank you in advance.

Larry, looks like you do some

Larry, looks like you do some awesome help here. I recently moved my WS-65711 from Arizona to Idaho. When I got here I have the same dreaded blinking timer light. I realize mine is not realted to a power surge, but can you please send me the instructions anyway, I would like to give it a try before hauling it in to a repair shop.
Thanks,
Lyman.

Larry: I noticed your

Larry: I noticed your comments about the WS-65711 with regards to the dreaded blinking green light. I too would like copies of your capacitor replacement notes and pictures if available. My father has a 48711 and it suffered the similar won't turn on problem twice. It was repaired in the shop the first time. I think they replaced the DM board. The second time it was repaired at home and all that was replaced was the momentary on/off switch. The repair tech stated that was a common repair when the TV will not turn on remote or via switch. I am thinking about doing the switch first since I am able to play with power/buttons/reset switch and ultimately get it on. I will say that is a real pain at times. I am guessing if the momentary switch is stuck in the shorted position that inhibits the switch or the remote from working. We will see. None the less if that doesn't work I would like to try your procedure on the dead capacitors. Please send me that info to "wheeler4@flash.net" Thanks for your time and effort.

best The advice I can tell

best The advice I can tell you at this point is to go to tvrepairkits.com and order the complete convergence kit for your model of TV set, no need to search and order multiple parts from different sources and pay multiple shipping fees! The kit comes with original Sanyo STK ICÂ’S , not those cheap aftermarket or china made ICÂ’S full pictorial directions, the thermal paste, resistors, the correct Pico fuses, AND free live on-Line tech assistance in case you run into a problem with the repair. They ship out 2 to 3 day Priority mail, the next day in most cases GOOD LUCK!!!
note this kit is NOT FOR A DLP TV SET

We have a WS-65613 and had the dreaded blinking green light problem. After reading alot of the posts on here, we decided to order the repair kit from tvrepairkits.com. For roughly $50.00 for the repair kit and a couple of items from Radio Shack ( and I learned a BIG lesson there, that just because you WORK at Radio Shack doesn't mean you know jack-crap about everything electronic ), LOL  It took my wonderful  other half about 3 1/2 hours from start to finish. The neighbor guy came to watch, I was trying to find the tools he needed and then there was the .........dog. Let's all give him a big round of applause <<<< CLAPPING >>>>>  !!!!   I was watching my BIG SCREEN that evening !   YEA !!!   Replacing the 4 bad caps worked for us. Hope that works for you guys out there with the same problem.  All have a good one, Bonster

You'd think these things were time-locked! Mine had the BGLOD two nights ago and now is dead. I have the WD-62825G. I had the extended warranty that expired 2 months ago.

I wonder if there are any good fixes for it that will allow me to keep using it for at least the next 6 months. Any tips/advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
