no sound

Hi gang,I have a Sylvania 32" T.V. that my frind was going to do me a favor and hook up a surround sound system on. Well to make a long story short he plugged the 110 volt wires into the front AV jacks and now the whole sound system isnt  working. The internal fuse is OK. Does it sound like it's even worth my time to take to the shop? It is a 2004 model
