My DVD disc is stuck in the machine on my Emerson 27" TV w/DVD & VCR.

We inserted a new disc in the tray and tried to get it to play. It will not play except for a short note on the screen like the opening picture and I cannot get it to eject. Have tried unplugging the unit for 30 min and then trying again with no success. The VCR unit works just fine. Any suggestions???????
