From my experience, i've learned that JVC Sucks at customer support, their website provides little to no information on what you need, calling customer support is a waste of 2 hours(longest time i've spent on hold)...I am wondering if someone can help me... I am using a grd271us(JVC mini dv digital video recorder), first off i am wondering what the usb link is for, when i plug it into my computer it doesn't do anything(i have the driver that came with it installed, well i don't even know if it is considered a driver, it is a "digital Photo Navigator", i have tried alot to try and get this to work, can someone please help me?

Alright, let's see if we can be better than JVC support :-)
So, I gather from your title that you're having trouble transferring content to your PC. The USB cable is for transferring pictures or video to your PC.
A couple of questions to help figure out what's going on:
1) What operating system are you using? Windows XP?
2) Are you having trouble transferring video or pictures or both?
3) Do you know if you have Windows MovieMaker on your PC?
4) Are both the camcorder and the PC turned on? and if so, Does your camcorder display anything on the display panel when connected to the PC?
That should be enough to get started.
