I have a wd-52525. I was able to fix the TV, now I have a whole different problem. When I reassemble the chassis, I accidentally touch the one of board with the screw driver, and I saw some sparks. The TV still works, but all the HD channels do not come in when scanning. I also did the Menu, 2470, and the line where it says "digital signal," I got "N/A" reading. Does anybody knows how to work around this, please help.

Thanks in advance,
Loc Nguyen

P.S. I can watch regular TV with the digital tuning box, but it's not as clear as the true HD channels because I have to use the analog cable.

I also have the infamous

I also have the infamous blinking green light. Nothing stops the green blinking light and the reset button does nothing to change the problem. I've called Mitsubishi and have a repair shop comming out tomorrow.
I need to know what the fix is and whether Mitsubishi is coving the cost to fix this $3000.00 lemon?

Hey Don thanks for reading this forum enough to know what to do... My story is posted within the last 5 pages.

The quick answer is yes they should at least pay for the repair, but what you want to do is have the tech give you an estimate for a Dead unit at about $450.  That seems to be the going price, but some are higher, and remember whatever they quote you is what you may have to pay.  I say this because they are also offering an upgrade.  I Paid $450 for a brand new tv..  If you want more info, first go back and read my story, then if you still have questions Pm me or post here.

Larry, I've seen you help

Larry, I've seen you help others with this issue & I was wondering if you could email a copy of the schematics to [email protected].

I have a WD-52525 & after checking the power supply I can see that I'm getting all voltages except what I'm assuming to be the discretes, +5VDC & +3.3VDC. +6VDC is going into the LDO voltage regulator but the +5VDC is not coming out, I measured about +0.83VDC at the output terminal. Although, I'm not convinced the issue lies with the regulator & in my experience it's usually a grouping of caps. All of the fuses are fine and none of the caps look distended. Thanks for your help in advance.

do to the chassis V26 / V28

do to the chassis V26 / V28 70 seconds of green blinking is normal , this means it is booting the cpu. If how ever continues its capacitor time please use 680uf at 16 volts for all 1000 uf as per Mits TA. If after you have replaced all caps please reset button . then if this does not cure your green blink of death replace you DM board. I had read a thread where the man recieved a 12 code means nothing is wrong . Checked your lamp is seated in the socket , if you force the lamp you will dislodge the receiver of the lamp , use a flash light and please make sure.

HELLO I HAVE A WD-52525 WHICH I BOUGHT USED FROM A FRIEND. WHEN I FIRST TURNED IT ON THE GREEN LIGHT BLINKED A FEW MINUTES, STOPPED, WORKED FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES, THEN STOPPED AND DISPLAYED SOMETHING ABOUT THE AIRFLOW BEING BLOCKED. CLEANED THE FILTER AND CASE INSIDE AND OUT, NOW I TURN IT ON, GREEN LIGHT BLINKS, STOPS, THEN THE RED LAMP LIGHT COMES ON AND STAYS UNTIL I UNPLUG THE SET. I HAVE NO MANUAL OR SCHEMATICS, CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME OUT HERE? I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE SOME IDEAS ON WHERE TO START AND INFO U COULD EMAIL ME. THANKS, [email protected]

Tis is a repeat posting for

Tis is a repeat posting for me from some months back. has anyone figured out what fails in the "PC"input circuit which causes that input to be very noisey and jittery whaen all other inputs look fine? I have been able to extend the life of maybe 7 or so of these TVs by replacing the caps mentioned as well as the FC power switch but everyone has a bad PC input. any clues out there/
Thanks - Kerry -

Is there a procedure to use

Is there a procedure to use to receive a blinking indicator that tells us what may be wrong with the TV. Is the capacitors and the fuses the only thing that could be wrong or is there a list of other things that could be wrong. What I am asking is it worth taking to repair shop or is my tv just junk now.

This for the more technical

This for the more technical minded in the group. I was just troubleshooting three FMT boards all with the same problem which was that all inputs appeared to be scrambled. Replacing the main filter caps on the bards had no effect on the problem. I then started probing the power busses with an oscilloscope. I found that three of the on-board voltage regulators were oscillating. It looks like as the smaller filter caps dry out and their ESR increases, the regulator ICs are prone to oscillate. I placed a 470 uF @ 16V cap across the output of each regulator which stopped the oscillations ( maybe 0.5v P-P) and made the boards work. Just another bit of info to help keep a few more of these sets running.

@ Stefano Read the last 5

@ Stefano Read the last 5 pages of this forum, all info + tons more, is on my keep and share web page. It is also on this board but kinda hidden in the download area... I would use my Keep and share page, look back in last 5 pages...

@Steve Solutions include Mits repairing them (Local Tech really now), or A replacement Tv. RIght now they seem to be offering the XX638, I would request at least the XX738 if under 60" and the XX838 if over 60". Not as many features. Mits should pay for Estimate, Mits should pay Taxes, Mits should pay shipping, You should pay the price of the repair. So have tech put down between $400 - $500.

@Jwilson Hold in Device and Menu???? Device and something.... But baically if you have the BGLOD, you more than likely have bad caps. I would call Mits before opening Tv up. If not then Check FMT board and the power board. Once you find out which board is bad search google for what size Caps to replace with.

Larry,

Larry,
I have a Mitsubishi 62528 that has the green blinking light. I have replaced the power supply board with a tested good one. Still get blinking light but now with additional strange behavior.

when plugged in i hear a relay click
green light blinks for approx 5 minutes (not 100% sure)
then status light illuminates orange green power light stops blinking.
after ~1 minute, status light goes out and green light blinks again.
cycle repeats itself.

last night i forgot to unplug the set. When I woke up, the status light was flahsing red. no green light.

Any suggestions? do you have repair guides for the other boards besides the power supply board? I am a skilled solderer and tech. I just have no equipment to test with so I'm repairing blind.

My email is [email protected]

More info for you technical

More info for you technical types out there,
I finally figured out a cure for the noisey PC input. It turns out the three terminal voltage regulator on the DM board is oscillating just like those on the FMT board. Used the same solution of putting a 470 uF cap across the output.

Some time ago in this massive

Some time ago in this massive thread I saw some people want the boards. I could not succeed with the changes to the boards so I junked the WD5525 but kept the entire board set in case anyone may want. Also have a lamp replacement unit with less than 20 hours on it. If anyone wants or has ideas on how to sell for a few bucks please let me know. Am in Boston area.

Hello ALl,

Hello ALl,

I have a Mitsubishi WD 52725 that has been problematic. I changed a new lamp and when turned TV on, the message on the screen asked:" did you change new lamp"? I click yes, then next message said: air flow is blocked(I cleaned it up and checked nothing in it), TV will turn off in a few second. in a few second the TV turn off with status red light blinking. please anyone can give me some suggestion how to fix it, I appreciate it, thanks.

Basically, I would turn my TV

Basically, I would turn my TV (a WD52525) on and wait for the black screen to come up with an image. The green light would be on on the timer - but not on the lamp - and the image would never appear. Instead, the green light would turn red. If anyone knows what's going on and how to fix it (information on how to change a DMD board, would be great), please contact me at [email protected].
