I have a Mit wd52525, I replaced the Caps about a year ago and now I have the green flashing light again. Pulled everything back out and caps look fine. Can anyone help. [email protected]
This thread is amazing!! I'm trying to do the cap fix and wonder if there's one place on all these pages where all the GLOD fixes are in one place? Thanks
nope sorry they will be soon.I think a service manual as well as capacitor repair is available in the technicians corner on the home page under the resources tab
Hi Larry, have found all the documents that have pictures of caps to replace but is there a list of the caps to replace on the listed boards with the 105C part numbers anywhere? The parts list in the manual has a Mitsu p/n but doesn't give a manufacturer's part number so you can determine the height and lead spacing for the cap. Is the list of what is in the repair kit anywhere? Since we have a good store around here to pick up the parts I'd like to use. Thanks, Cisco
That was some other poor victim of the GLOD Larry! You're so nice to help! Have only the photos and manual. Is there a repair kit with all the caps and switch that can be bought as a kit? Please let me know where to find if so. Just saw this as somehow it didn't give me a notification. Thanks so very much for your help! Cisco
Hey Mr. Larry, another victim of the blinking green light on the WD-52525. Can you shoot me the repair guide? Hopefully I will be able to repair it myself, was quoted about a grand to fix....
Does anyone know of any reputable companies that repair the board set for the wd 52525? While the input on the examples showed 3 boards with a total of 14 caps needing replacement other places in the thread suggest a switch and replacement of over 100 caps + fuses including surface mount. I could do the 12 but if it's likely to require more would like to find a repair shop ideally in the Boston area. Thanks, Cisco 99
I had a Mitsubishi WD52525, with the blinking problem for a customer. Contacted Mitsubishi and said parts were no longer available such as DM board. DM boards usually can be rebuilt by changing caps. I found a set on craigslist for $50 with a cracked screen same model and started swapping out boards. I found out the problem that is causing the blinking was the MT Board. Set works fine now I just need to find out what parts caused the blinking to start rebuilding the boards to sell and fix sets in our shop.

There are pictures I sent to you of the FMT board with the bad caps but even if they do not look bad they still probably are the caps are cheap so replace them
Larry D..
Larry I have changed all the caps on the FMT board. I still have the blinking led problem. I think I might have bad chips. If I install the switch will it work. Let me know thanks.
how about the caps in the dm board and check all the surface mounted fuses inside the board and make sure all the caps are in properly and there are no solder splashes on any of the boards
Larry D.
There's no guarantee the switch will work for you even if you change all the caps on the DM and FMT boards. For my TV the switch doesn't work.
Had it working for a very short while with the cap changes (and with fuse ohm checking), but it failed again. Haven't had a chance to pull it all apart again and fix the problems.
That is true as a matter of fact there is no guarantee that even if the complete chassis is shipped to the factory that it will work for any period of time!!!!!

Larry hoping you can help, this time not a GLOD issue - or at least not yet. I believe the lamp in my WD-52525 is going, never replaced and it is 6+ years old. Now no matter what input I use, Monolink, component, or video in on front I get a blue screen as if there is no input detected. The lamp light was also red. I shut off the TV and unplugged. Tried again a few minutes later and the red lamp light is gone, but the picture is blue again (but this time not clear). Any ideas?
Thanks!
Before replacing lamp, check 5 volt supply at J-9 pin one... brown wire on engine driver PCB. if low or missing check C9A37 and C9A38 both 3300 MFD 10 volt. on the power PCB. if 5volt supply is good suspect light engine part #939p977010. Probably not worth repairing if its the light engine. Good luck hope this helps.
Thanks Service. I've taken out the Chasiss but where to I find the boards with the caps? Is there a diagram somewhere to help point me in the right direction?
Just make sure that you check all the caps and surface mount fuses on the FMT and on the DM Board should be labeled if not look at pictures throughout forum. Usually the caps are puffed or domed and usually visible. I usually replace all the caps that have the same value usually 1000 @ 16v because the originals are usually poor quality and due for failure soon. The schematic is located somewhere on this forum I just can't find the link at the moment. Give me your e-mail and I will gladly e-mail it to you. Good luck.
i keep asking over and over again, for repair help with the wd52525 but still havent received any , can u please send them to me larry, [email protected]
