Larry Dillon said: Val and km, I have sent you the documents you requested so you can attempt the repair on your TV set. If you do not know how to solder, play it safe and find a friend or a pro to unsolder and to solder these capacitors, as the PC board is very small and can be easily damaged. Also remember that this is not a place to be experimenting around inside of so if you do not know what something does, don't mess with it. Be careful. Good Luck

Hi Larry:  I've got the same problem - 55813 Mitsubishi TV and green blinking light that won't go away.  Can you send me the stuff?

I also have a WS-55813 that had a powering on problem with the green blinking light. I received the instructions from Larry and was able to fix it.  I hadn't really had much soldering experience, but it was very easy.  From start to finish took me a couple of hours as I worked slow to make sure I understood and did it right. I'm confident I could do it in half the time.  Thanks so much Larry!

Your welcome mjbaker65. It is really nice to put that 800 to 1000 bucks in your pocket instead of a repair persons pocket. Nice job!

Larry,

Larry,

About a week ago the power went on and off during the night. My t.v. was not on but when I walked into the living room the green light on the front of the T.V. was flashing and I tried turning the television on with no luck. I unplugged it and plugged it back in with no luck. I then left it unplugged while I went to work and when I came home and plugged it in again, the green light started flashing again and no power. The television was plugged into a serge protector that came with the television but still it didn't help. Could you please e-mail me the instructions so maybe I can try to fix this problem on my own?

Thank you very much in advance,

Jalin

Sorry I forgot to put the email address. I guess that would help.

[email protected]

Thanks again.

'Looks like you da man, Larry

'Looks like you da man, Larry!  My WS65869 bit the dust yesterday, so I'm now requesting the "fix" tutorial, please! (I'm good with tools, having built my own Heathkit TV long ago!)

One additional question in my case, tho:

- I had the blinking light problem once a year or so ago, but it went away on power cycle so I thought nothing of it. This time I did NOT and do NOT get a continuously-blinking light, rather the power light comes on for 2 secs and then goes off.

No power-down/power cycling will get it out of this mode now, either. :(

This began during a mid-viewing shutdown by the TV: Wife was watching football yesterday (I'm a "football widower!" My wife MAKES ME WATCH FOOTBALL WITH HER! Woot!) and the screen went black. Ever since then it's been stuck in "green light on for only 2 secs" with nothing but a black screen. (I.e. Its not on long enough for the CRT to warm/fire up, I don't think. FYI: It DOES do the normal boot-up blinking which DOES stop after the usual duration. Attempts to power-on thereafter get the 2-secs attempt before going off again.)

I'm wondering if the CRT went out?

Anyway, strangely enough I purchased an extended warranty with the thing when I bought it in 2002 and guess what? It's up in 4 weeks!  ... It's still on warranty... and they're coming out to "fix it(?)" Tuesday! That NEVER happens, does it?!?

I've downloaded the service manual for the TV and would like to have your info in-hand as well when the repair guy shows up Tuesday, so when he pops the back of the set off I'll know what to look for to see if this is my problem!

TYiA, and thx for helping all these ppl on this board!

There are even pictures included!  Now once you get this apart, and the capacitors look good, check the capacitors, or have them checked.  I have seen in a few cases where some folks have only replaced the capacitors that looked bad.  If this does not fix your problem, you will need to have a pro come out and check out your TV set..  If you do not have a clue what you are doing, please play it safe and call in a tech.  If this board is indeed bad, the repair should not eceed 1000 bucks.  If you want this file, leave an e-mail address and i will forwar it to you.  Remember, there is a possibility that there is another problem with your TV set, but this has fixed over 65% of the peoples TV sets that I have shared this file with.  Good Luck, and let us know if this helps you.

That would be great!!!  You can send it to [email protected] Thanks!

I could also use this file. Same problem! Please email to: [email protected]

Any Clue on a  45 inch rear projection mitsubishi that leaked coolant on to the signal board & now the darn thing won't even come on. Any clue on this Project?

Sorry, Diggs. depends really

Sorry, Diggs. depends really on what was damaged on the printed circuit board. It is impossible to tell without checking it out. The board that was leaked on can be sent to ptscorp for repair, as long it is not to badly corroided. Look up the number from the website I gave you and call them to see. Good Luck

Hello. I have been having the same problem with my ws-55513. I had a power outage during the night and the set has not turned on since. Before then whenever i would turn the set off it would take longer and longer for the blinking timer would stop. Could this be something else or what?  LARRY DILLON....could you please send me the repair manual!! I cannot afford to have it repaired so i am going to have to try it alone. Also, please tell me where i will be able to get the parts as well and about how much they should cost. Would be greatly appreciated. Email to [email protected]

Hi Larry.  I have the same

Hi Larry.  I have the same green blinking light issue with my Mitsubishi big screen.  It is about 3 years old and it is a model 65713.  I left on a trip and while I was gone my wife told me that the TV would not turn on and that the timer light just kept blinking green.  I have since reset the TV unplugged it over night and tried to get it back to running, but the only thing it does is blink that green light.  Can you please send me the fix instructions.  My email is [email protected].

Thanks

Larry,  I have the fast blinking light problem after I had the box powered off and unplugged for 5 days.  I have the service manual for the WS65869 but the files you mention above would be helpfull to check the capacitors or to order any parts I may need. Thank you in advance for sending me the files.
